An architectural structure is a synthesis of assemblies.
Platform, facade, roof, and stair come together as curated construction. Building upon the catalog of assemblies that have already been produced (Investigations In Assembly), our goal was to synthesize, bring together, curate, and design a small 1,500 square foot structure along the Chicago River as part of the Wild Mile.
The goal of the project was to investigate the duality between the local ecology of Goose Island and the surrounding industrial compounds, through the expression of natural and structural elements. This structure is equal parts habitat and apparatus as a tool for living, studying, researching, making, and exploring.
