I wanted to explore the nature of juxtaposition through architectural form, by thinking beyond conventional techniques. To try to comprehend the complexities of the universe and see something beyond just two cubes, to unlock omnidirectional spatial relationships, and subsequently create an impossible structure.
This piece is a representation of my ultimate goal in architecture, to create structures - that in a pragmatic sense do not serve a purpose - instead, act as a medium to express emotion, and in some sense, the beauty of the universe.
The goal was to design a human-scale structure that allows one to experience the qualities of light in its most powerful and profound way. By selecting the most compelling design from my study models and renders, I wanted to reimagine the space, and radically transform it to create a more dramatic and fascinating effect.
